Coordinated control approach for load following operation of SOFC-GT hybrid system

In order to achieve the fast load following and safe transient operation of Solid Oxide Fuel Cell-Gas Turbine hybrid system, a novel control approach by combining multi loops with coordinated protection is proposed in this work. The can adjust behavior parameters on-line avoid undesired faults, such as compressor surge, reformer carbon deposition, fuel cell thermal crack turbine blade overheat. Meanwhile, fuzzy logic theory introduced self-tuning meet requirements nonlinear time varying system. analysis system during step changes indicates that present work realize decoupling eliminate instability SOFC-GT. strategy reduce SOFC current overshoot 10.8% step-down operation, meanwhile, reduces maximum temperature changing rate almost 47.7%. addition, air flow, 1.16% step-up operation. This leads gradient decreased 0.18K/cm.
